ZORA – Roles and Rights
In ZORA, permissions are technically assigned via epersons, groups, and policies. The roles described here are functional roles that are implemented through corresponding groups in the system.
An individual can belong to multiple roles at the same time. The functions that are actually available also depend on the permissions defined at the community, collection, or object level.
Role and Permissions Model
| Role | Task |
|---|---|
| Guest | Can search for and view publicly available content. No registration required. |
| Submitter (researcher or alternate) |
Maintains their own personal profile. Enters publications and metadata. Any UZH member can register and log in. |
| Editor (area lead) |
Performs substantive or formal reviews of submitted records, checks and edits metadata, adds information, and supports quality assurance. Decides on approvals (review). |
| Repository Administrator (OA-Team UB, ZORA-IT) |
Full access to the entire repository, including configuration, users, groups, permission assignment, communities and their collections, workflows, and system administration. |
| Retired (former UZH employees) |
The account remains active, but all permissions are revoked and login is no longer possible. If re-employed at UZH, the account can be reactivated upon request to the OA Team. |
